Super Street Fighter 4 pre-release Impressions - Dee Jay

Very fun to play. All the moves from SSF2T I remember are present, whether he will be as dominating as he was then is still unknown. Most tactics from the past can still be used, the slide is still an awesome anti air but now is nowhere near as good for closing the gaps as it is easily punishable when it whiffs or is blocked. His 1st Ultra - Sobat Festival can go through fireballs at close range, and looks fantastic too with him landing multiple dread kicks and ending with a huge Max Out like Uppercut.

Climax Beat is Ultra number 2, it starts with his machine-gun upper special move into an uppercut which launches you into the air, Dee Jay then proceeds to punches the crap out of you juggling you are in the air and ends it with a sweet looking hook to the body which sends you flying, total hit 44!

His EX-dread kick has lost the crumple earlier versions of SSF4 had but it still seems to be easily combo-able and has invincibility on start up which flys right through fireballs and most normals. Max Out is as good as I remember it being with the EX version throwing 2 in quick succession which makes it great for those who like to jump over fireballs. I did not see many people using the machine gun upper however the EX version does launch your opponent into a juggle state which can be comboed into the ultra. The Jackknife Maximum (the up kicks) are back and seems to serve their purpose, I still wouldn't use them on wake up though.

Dee Jay's normals seemed really good with some quick pokes such as his light punches which seemed reminded me of Balrog with the way they could be easily comboed. From what I've seen of Dee Jay so far he will be a contender.
